The Quay is the alternative shopping experience. The majority of the shops are independently owned and not part of large ‘chain’ companies. The emphasis is on a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and quality of service. The Coffee Cellar sits on the edge of the canal, its outside tables flooded with sunlight throughout the day while the boats, duck and swans glide by. The mood is tranquil and nothing is rushed, hours can be spent browsing the unique shops and crafts or just sitting in the sun with a drink in hand.
The Coffee Cellar itself is a unique experience. As soon as you enter the sight of barrels and beds will greet you, followed by our warm and friendly staff. Lastly, if you decide to stay with us for a drink or a bite to eat, you will have a taste experience consisting of freshly ground Italian coffee, fresh food prepared and cooked to order and a range of teas, soft drinks, cakes and other snacks.
The Coffee Cellar provides not only a relaxed, friendly atmosphere but also a range of services that go further than excellence in Coffee. We also run an Eco-friendly business, recycling and conservation of energy are important for people and planet.
We are open every day of the year except Christmas. Our opening ours are: 8am – 6pm*

We use the finest Italian coffee beans; freshly ground every day to ensure the best coffee in your cup. Rocca Coffees are roasted in the romantic town of Conegliano, amidst the seductive Trevigiana hills of Northern Italy. The landscape around Coligniano is peppered with medieval castles, fortresses (Roccas) and abbeys. Using a closely-guarded blend of the finest coffee beans, ROCCA is a beautifully balanced coffee which exudes soft, nutty undertones developed by slow and gentle roasting. The smooth rich ROCCA flavour has been crafted by Mauro de Giusti, a passionate coffee roaster whose family has been drawing the finest flavours from espresso coffees for over 80 years.
While considering which of our range of coffees you may also want to take into account what exactly goes into it. Apart from our freshly ground beans there is decaffeinated coffee and a choice of full-fat, ‘skinny’ or soya milk. Feel free to ask us for any combination and test your creativity – if we’ve got it, we’ll do our very best to deliver it exactly how you would like it.
Coffee breaks often are just that – a break from everything. However, it doesn’t mean you have to stop everything to enjoy good coffee. Our Café has free wireless which anyone can have access to, just ask one of our staff for the password and then check your emails, send messages to your friends or just be able to get on the web because your broadband at home is on the blip again!
